• Directional Movement: Movement in art
  

• Rhythm: A reoccurring pattern. 
  
• Proportion / Scale: Scale - size of an object in relation to another object. Proportion - relative size to parts of a whole
  
• Balance: the way the elements in a piece are arranged
  
• Unity: What gives the artwork cohesiveness - what ties it together.
  
• Harmony:  Brings together a composition with similar units.
  
• Contrast: the arrangement of opposite elements
  
• Emphasis (Focal Point / Center of interest:  The artist makes part of the work stand out, in order to draw the viewer's eye there first. The focal point is the center of interest or activity in a work of art.
