Vocab 2

  • Line: The different shape or location of a line. 
  • Shape:  an area that stands out from the space next to or around it due to a defined or implied boundary, or because of differences of value, color, or texture
  • Form / Volume: 
  • Color:  The element of art that is produced when light, striking an object, is reflected back to to the eye.
  • Value/Tone: Light or Dark
  • Texture: Either the way a three-dimensional work actually feels when touched, or the visual feel of a two-dimensional work


  • Space: Distances or areas around, between or within components of a piece.
  • Perspective:  the technique used to represent a three-dimensional world on a two-dimensional surface in a way that looks realistic and accurate.
